The Charger Fund is the foundation of St. Petronille School’s fundraising efforts. Each year, annual gifts cover the cost between tuition and expenses to enhance the educational experience for all students. We rely on annual financial contributions from all members of our community, and every gift, regardless of the amount, makes a valuable and immediate difference for our students. Unrestricted gifts to the Charger Fund will provide funding for the school's annual list of projects, such as technology updates, curriculum enhancements, specialized faculty development, and facilities improvements. Unrestricted gifts to the Charger Fund are the highest form of philanthropy and the most powerful gift a donor can make. Our giving year runs from July 1 to June 30.

The outstanding education that St. Petronille School offers is becoming more expensive. We are challenged to keep tuition at affordable levels while still attracting and retaining the best teachers, maintaining and improving our campus, and accommodating all students who desire a Catholic education. Our answer to these financial challenges is to focus on the long term. We must build a strong financial base to secure the future of St. Petronille Catholic School by substantially increasing the size of our endowment. The term “endowment” is used to describe funds that are set aside for the long-term benefit of the school.
In January 2024, the Lifetime Investment in Faith & Education Endowment was rewritten to establish three individual endowment funds. This endowment was created to receive and maintain funds and to disperse these funds solely for the benefit of St. Petronille School for general educational purposes. The three general educational purpose funds include:- Tuition Assistance Endowment Fund
- Daniel and Joleen Frick Teacher Endowment Fund
- Capital & Technology Improvement Endowment Fund
Gifts to the endowment allow St. Petronille to save and anticipate for the future. These gifts can be unrestricted or may support a specific initiative. The current balance of the endowment is nearly $4 million and provides essential budgetary support in perpetuity. The endowment is managed by the Investment Committee of the St. Petronille School Board. Currently, the endowment spending policy is 4% of a rolling 12-quarter average.
