In the Intermediate grades, we foster student independence and encourage development of responsible, respectful individuals both inside and outside of the classroom. We continue to cultivate our faith life by building upon the sacraments as we plan and participate in weekly mass, prayer services, and service projects. The buddy program enriches our student life as we partner with other grades to lead and promote learning opportunities for our younger grades.
Strong communication skills come from opportunities for classroom and public speaking, coupled with access to the performing arts through the parish children’s choir and drama program participation. Robust, balanced reading/writing curriculum finds students working in small groups learning individual skills, practice reading strategies, and move on to novel and independent book studies. Math skills build in the four operations, as well as algebraic and geometry skills. NGSS concepts are explored in both the classroom and the STEM Lab leading to in-depth science knowledge.
